A Short

History of Health

For billions of years, human life has taken countless births, yet the design of nature has been the same since its origin. If we believe disease in the body is normal, or life is meant for suffering, then it is a flaw in the design of nature. If there was flaw, then humanity would have perished long back.

However, humanity has freewill, and nature is non-judgmental. This means we can go out of alignment with nature and attract suffering, however without any judgement, nature continues to try to bring us in alignment every night.

Human body is dynamic in nature. However, it is constituted with, perishable body made of 5 elements, 3 GUN, going through 8 Prahar is a very dynamic in nature. Going through several Yug and era, where ration of 5 elements is recalibrated in each era, throws a lot of challenge on human body to follow anything static which with time was turning obsolete putting body under stress and thus causing disease.

For billions of
years...

Human life has taken countless births, yet the design of nature has been the same since its origin. If disease in the body is normal, then it is a flaw in the design of nature. If there was flaw, then humanity would have perished long back.

However, perishable body made of 5 elements, 3 GUN, going through 8 Prahar is a very dynamic in nature. Going through several Yug and era, where ration of 5 elements is recalibrated in each era, throws a lot of challenge on human body to follow anything static which with time was turning obsolete putting body under stress and thus causing disease.

The dynamics of nature in every era recalibrated the human body and as humanity began to come together,
cultures began to erode and gradually rituals got distorted.

It resulted in a change in our lifestyle, and
we went out of alignment with nature.

Suffering in the form of
distress, disorder and disease began to surface.

Take example. As a child if you witness death of

loved one in the family and do not cry and follow

13 days ritual which was designed to release the

hopelessness and bring back to hope by

accepting it as part of life, results into

schizophrenia in growing up years.

The ritual of celebrating periods of a teen girl removed the

shame in her and helped her accept the end of

childhood and embracing adulthood with hope to

look forward to life. PCOD, infertility and various

women health related issues are emerging due to

shame of femininity stored inside.

Lifestyle consisted of rituals, customs, habits, food, fabric of relationship which kept us aligned with nature and

that kept us healthy. The reverence towards nature was the DNA of lifestyle.

Health and happiness were one aspect which almost the whole tribe got right generation after generation. However,

staying in reverence with nature made them live in mystery and wonderment and a question emerged from

the womb of mystery. What is the purpose?

Health and purpose continued to grow as obsession for humanity as yug and kaal changed. As Aether began to reduce

in the universe, Tamas grew and that began to change the Prakurti of humanity, customs and rituals delivered

lessor value. Lifestyle began to change.

Humanity began to go out of alignment with nature and suffering grew.
The more the suffering grew, the question about purpose became intense as
suffering they could still attribute to past life Karm.

AYURVED

The most ancient medical system, also known as science of life,

addressed both the issues. It defined the purpose of life and

then defined how to come back in alignment with nature

if you begin to experience suffering.

The most ancient medicine system- AYURVED remains

the most advanced system of medicines which was designed to

bring us in alignment with nature.  It defined lifestyle.

It said one shall pursue wealth and abundance pursing righteous duties

with aspiration and desire to attain MOSKHA.

The purpose is to attain moksha in some lifetime.

To restore alignment with nature, medicines were created using herbs,

plants and spices.

It continues to remain the most comprehensive health system till date.

Its first layer is prevention. Ayurvedic ways to prepare food which for generations every household

is wise about.

The second layer is home remedies using herbs and spices to address lifestyle disease and disorder.

Its third layer is the use of an external agent- an Ayurvedic Vaidya to implements holistic treatment for chronic and severe cases.

It laid emphasis on lifestyle, personal & social hygiene and path of dharm. Ayurvedic Vaidya was deeply rooted in Vedic wisdom and had the ability to use insights to become aware of root case of suffering about a patient to personalize the medicine using the wisdom of Ayur-Ved.

This worked well for disease. Distress was prevented by strong family bonds and community bonds by addressing emotions in extreme cases and motivating the ailing person with hope and flow of life. Likewise, disorder was prevented but when it needed cure, it was handled by experts who knew how to balance the energy across seven chakras by healing the wounds caused by trauma.

Since Ayur-Ved is rooted in Vedic wisdom, its premise is reincarnation. Therefore, root cause of disease was attributed to past life Karm. This brought fear and acceptance of disease as destiny rather than finding cure by aligning with nature as a side effect.

With passage of time, as lifestyle changed, adherence to Ayur-Ved teachings became increasingly difficult, thus its effectiveness as cure.

Around 500 BC, Hippocrates introduced the concept of naturopathy which again emphasized aligning with nature through hygiene, diet and silence. He believed that disease can be cured, and it is not due to sins of the past lives. He believed if you
do not do anything and regulate diet, hygiene and remain
in silence, either the disease will die or the person with disease will die. Food being the only foreign element, he laid emphasis
that let food be your medicine.

From the ancient time of Ayur-Ved to naturopathy till 19th century, health was based on a premise that health is a gift of nature. Learn to reclaim it. Wellbeing was a lifestyle function defined by Ayur-Ved and family and community addressed wellbeing. Both health and wellbeing were regulated through lifestyle, food, herbs, spices, hygiene and plants.

The Homeopath was invented in the 19th century. It worked on a principle that like cures like.  This means a substance which causes the symptoms in a healthy person, which can cure them.

The Homeopath was invented in the 19th century. It worked on a principle that like cures like.  This means a substance which causes the symptoms in a healthy person, which can cure them.

It is a holistic medicine system which aims to activate the natural healing process of the body.
It also had a focus on lifestyle and diet, its uniqueness lied in addressing emotional wellbeing to find the root cause.

Due to this, it differed in treatment type. This was the first time, humanity began to address health at the chemical level,

though it was prepared with natural substances without any side effect.

Till about the early 20th century, naturopaths in the west were high in demand till allopathy came.
Allopathy was pure and pure chemical play. It worked on a principle that medicine for one symptom will

create another symptom.

Because it had no respect for nature, it induced chemicals to suppress the symptoms and caused imbalance in the body to show up

as symptom in some other form. Since then, there has been no evolution in allopathy as the basic premise is to suppress

the symptoms. This means as long as you are taking medicine, your symptoms will remain suppressed. Allopathy is a gift to humanity

for its diagnosis, acuteness and eventuality (surgery).
Once stable, we should be able to begin to align with nature and heal at root cause level.

Till the invention of allopathy, which is just 2 centuries old and yet not a cure, every medicine system has been designed on

the premise of lifestyle, diet and herbs and plants with the objective to trigger the natural healing process in the body.

Over centuries, they all began to become in effective in their claims primarily due to following factors:

There are other important factors which with changing times evolved and ancient systems did not evolve:

Industrial revolution

disrupted the culture.
It forced a change in

lifestyle.

Migration for jobs

broke down family and community

as an institution.

This affected wellbeing and

that changed our lifestyle.

Hygiene deteriorated badly

when we polluted our natural resources

and disturbed ecology.

Earth became toxic and the

food we ate is toxic too.

Apart from this, mal practises of various medical institutes eroded faith while treatment by the day was turning to be ineffective.
