The Eight Frequencies Tracker: A Self-Awareness Tool for Aligning with Nature
By the Adiyog Sutra Research & Practice Team
What Are the Eight Frequencies?
In the Adiyog Sutra framework, nature operates in distinct emotional frequencies throughout the day — from the first light of dawn to the stillness of midnight. These are not just poetic metaphors; they are measurable patterns in mood, energy, and breath that humans are designed to flow with.
When we align with these frequencies, we conserve energy and enhance restoration. When we resist them — by staying anxious during a frequency of calm, or sluggish during a frequency of action — we create energy leaks that accelerate stress and fatigue.
Why Track Them?
Most people are unaware of how far their internal state drifts from nature’s rhythm. The Eight Frequencies Tracker is a simple but powerful tool that makes this visible, enabling conscious course correction.
By logging your emotional state in relation to the natural frequency of the moment, you begin to:
- Recognise patterns in mood and energy dips.
- Identify triggers for emotional misalignment.
- Reclaim breath and vitality through awareness and small shifts.
How to Use the Tracker
1. Identify the Current Frequency
In Aarambh, participants learn to map the day into eight segments, each with a dominant frequency:
- Stillness
- Awakening
- Expansion
- Action
- Consolidation
- Release
- Integration
- Renewal
(Exact timing varies seasonally, but is taught within the program.)
2. Check Your Internal State
At the start of each frequency, pause and notice:
- Your breath — is it deep, shallow, fast, slow?
- Your emotions — calm, restless, focused, scattered?
- Your body — energised, tired, tense, light?
3. Log Your Observation
In the tracker, note whether your state is:
- Aligned with the natural frequency.
- Neutral — neither aligned nor resistant.
- Resistant — in direct contrast to nature’s flow.
Example:
- Natural frequency: Consolidation (calm, gathering).
- Your state: Restless, planning next day aggressively.
- Alignment: Resistant.
4. Apply a Micro-Adjustment
If misaligned, you don’t force a change. Instead, apply a subtle practice:
- For resistance during calm frequencies: slow breathing, gentle movement, or stillness.
- For resistance during active frequencies: short bursts of physical activity or energising breathwork.
Case Example from Aarambh
One participant discovered that she consistently resisted the Release frequency (evening) by working late and pushing mental activity. By simply noting this pattern for a week and introducing a 5-minute OTB breathing break at 6:00 PM, she found her sleep depth improved and her breath slowed naturally over time.
Why This Works
From a biological perspective:
- Aligning with nature’s frequencies optimises hormonal cycles, digestion, and circadian rhythm.
- Awareness interrupts unconscious stress patterns before they accumulate into chronic imbalance.
From a psychological perspective:
- Tracking builds self-observation without self-judgment.
- Small, non-forceful adjustments lead to sustainable change.
Start Tracking Today
You don’t need the full program to begin. Try this:
- Pick one frequency today (e.g., Consolidation, 3–6 PM).
- Observe your state at its start.
- Log alignment vs. resistance.
- Apply one small micro-adjustment.
Even one week of observation can reveal powerful patterns.
